A to Z of fetishes: T is for tentacles, tickling and trampling

a to z of fetishes t

Taphephilia

Arousal from being buried alive. It’s best done on a fantasy basis as the real thing can be incredibly dangerous.

Technophilia

Used to describe people who quite like owning PlayStations and iPhones, but as a sexual paraphilia, it’s when people want to use their vibrating controllers for sexual activity. A technophile may fantasise about sex with robots or other gadgets.

Telephonicophilia

Getting off on making obscene phone calls, and dates from the days of landline phones.

Tentacle fetish

Popularised by Japanese hentai comics, in which women have sex with or are sexually assaulted by tentacles from monsters or plants. The tentacles enable one creature to deliver multiple penetration while also restraining the person.

Teratophilia

A fetish for monsters, not just of the fantastical or mythical kind but also people who might be considered monstrous-looking. Subsets of teratophilia can include amputee fetishism.

Thesauromania

A fetish for collecting women’s clothing, often by stealing.

Tickle fetish

Someone with a tickle fetish can find this incredibly erotic, either as something to experience, or something to do to a willing partner.

Total Power Exchange

TPE, as it’s known in the BDSM community, is when a submissive partner gives the dominant partner complete control over everything: not just their sexual pleasure but everything in their life. The submissive becomes their partner’s property or slave.

Trampling

When there’s nothing you’d like more than literally and psychically being walked over.

Transformation Fetish

When you’re sexually aroused by the transformation of humans into something else: animals, perhaps, or objects.

Transvestic Fetishism

A transvestite is someone, usually a straight man, who gets off on wearing the clothes of the opposite sex. It’s not the same thing as being gender non-conforming or transgender: in those cases, clothes are about personal identity, not sexual gratification.

Trichophilia

Sexual arousal from human hair, usually the hair on somebody’s head but sometimes also pubic hair, body hair or hair in a particular condition such as short hair or wet hair.
